ULLADULLA CARPET COURT’S STORYBOOK CHALLENGE WINNER

Click to enlargeA class from Milton Public School is now the proud owner of $1,000 worth of new books and a colourful reading mat after grade 2 student, Emily Stein, won the inaugural Ulladulla Carpet Court Storybook Challenge.

Emily submitted a story about what she loves the most in her community, winning the prize for her classroom, as well as a book package worth $250 for herself. Emily’s story talked about the good people and beautiful birds in her local area.

Ulladulla Carpet Court reported an overwhelming response from the local community to the inaugural Storybook Challenge, with wonderfully creative stories and pictures submitted from primary schools in the region.

The entries were voted for by the community to establish five finalists, which were then judged by Doug Gooch of Ulladulla Carpet Court along with local New South Wales author Tracey Hawkins.

Truck and Bus Collide Ulladulla - 6 Injured

Six people have been injured after a collision between a bus and a truck at Ulladulla.

About 11  this morning a driverless truck ran out of a driveway near Alan May Holden and sideswiped the bus , which was travelling along the Princes Highway.

Of the 45 passengers on the bus 6 were injured, with two treated at the scene and four taken to hospital.

All of the injured are in a stable condition

Traffic was diverted off the highway and into side streets

Earlier there was another crash south west of Milton.

Two vehicles collided on Woodburn Rd at Milton just  before 9am this morning.

A 53 yr old man was trapped by the lower limbs and had to be flown to hospital by ambulance rescue helicopter.

A second person suffered less serious injuries and was taken to Milton hospital by road ambulance.

Man charged with public mischief - Ulladulla

A man is facing court to answer an allegation of public mischief after telling police a piece of takeaway chicken about to be consumed by his son was contaminated.

On 20 June 2012, police from the Shoalhaven Local Area Command were told a man had found a pill inside a piece of takeaway chicken purchased from a South Coast fast food outlet.

After investigations by police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command, a Future Court Attendance Notice was issued to a 27–year-old man from Mollymook Beach.

It will be alleged the pill was from the man’s residence.

He will appear in Milton Local Court on 30 August 2012.

Home saved from grass fire

RFS crews from Bendalong, Milton, Cudmirrah, St Georges Basin, Cunjurong Point and Fire and Rescue NSW from Ulladulla are battling to contain a grass fire threatening a property on Martins Ridge Road Conjola. The fire is burning in kykuyu grass downhill from the house. At this stage the only threat is the one dwelling and do not expect there to be any more threats to life or property.
