Shark sightings - Mollymook

Swimmers were evacuated at a popular South Coast beach on Saturday after a shark sighting.

The Bendigo Bank aerial patrol alerted lifesavers on Mollymook Beach to clear the water just after midday.

Harry Mitchell from the patrol says there were a number of shark sightings on the south coast over the weekend.

Elderly man dies at Bawley Point

An elderly man has died after being pulled from the surf at Bawley Point on the south coast of New South Wales.

The man was found unconscious and floating face down by a beach goer about 7:30 am.

Batemans Bay and Mollymook Lifesavers tried to resuscitate the man, as did ambulance paramedics but the man could not be revived.
