Police Rescue 4WD Enthusiasts

About 2.30pm, Saturday 13th August, 2011, two Ulladulla males in their early twenties, set out in a small 4wd vehicle to travel from Ulladulla to Nowra using off road tracks. About an hour into their journey they have become bogged and despite several attempts by them, have been unable to free themselves. As a result, they have contacted Police. Police have mounted a search and located the pair in the vicinity of Twelve Mile Road. Police were required to walk the pair out of the bushland for several kilometres before returning them to their homes. The vehicle was left were it was bogged and will be recovered at a later time. As a result of this, Police issue a reminder to bush enthusiasts to be prepared when going into bushland. When four wheel driving, ensure you have all the necessary recovery equipment and when bushwalking you have all the necessary equipment, clothing and food and water. Most importantly, you let someone know where you are going and when your ETA to return is.
