Five Rescued from Rip at Racecourse Beach

Ulladulla Paramedic Peter Arndell explains to a family member the safe areas to swim.A muslim family on holiday's at a Racecourse Beach caravan park near Ulladulla were caught in a rip this afternoon (28 Jan 2012). Family members attempted a rescue but soon became caught in the rip themselves, a total of five persons were rescued by nearby surfers. NSW Ambulance responded two vehicles to the beach and treated one person for water ingestion. This is the same area were a man drowned after christmas 2011.

Parents urged to be on the lookout for suspicious vehicle - Ulladulla

Police are urging parents and their children to be on the lookout for a suspicious vehicle seen in the Ulladulla area.

About 12pm, Tuesday 3 January 2012, a 12-year-old boy and his brother were playing in the front yard of their home in Parsons Street when a Toyota Hilux four-wheel drive stopped in the street.

Police have been told the vehicle drove past the house a number of times with the male driver watching the two boys before parking outside the home.

One of the boys went inside and alerted his parents to the matter, however, the man and the Toyota had driven off by the time they came out to investigate.

Detectives from Shoalhaven Local Area Command are conducting investigations into the suspicious activity and have conducted a canvass of nearby residents.

They are looking for a man who has only been described as having short spiky hair and driving a white Toyota Hilux four-wheel drive.

Police are also investigating reports the vehicle has been seen in the street on a number of occasions over the last two months. 

Anyone who sees the vehicle or has information about the identity and whereabouts of the male driver is urged to contact Ulladulla Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY – ULLADULLA

About 4.55am on Saturday 10 December, 2011 a 38 year old Mollymook man parked his vehicle in the car park on St Vincent Street, Ulladulla.  He was approached by two males one described as about 16 years old, thin build about 170cm tall, grey shirt wrapped around his head, dark shorts and joggers and a second described as 16 years old, thin build, slightly taller than the first, black jeans, black shirt, black jumper tied around his face.  The two males demanded the victims wallet and when they were not successful demanded his car keys.  Other workers in the vicinity came out of a building and the young persons decamped north along St Vincent Street.
