Another Car Destroyed by Fire

A tough lesson learnt for the owner who left his broken down vehicle on Forest Rd Nowra Hill last night. The Callalla Beach RFS responded to a car alight at 11.30 last night (17 july 2011), the vehicle was totally destroyed by fire. The owner arrived to repair his pride and joy this morning only to find it beyond repair. The incident follows a string of suspicious car and building fires in Nowra.

Vehicle Destroyed By Fire At Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre

About 11.30pm on Saturday 16/7/11 Police from Nowra Police Station were patrolling the Nowra Central Business District when the observed an 1985 Silver Holden Barina sedan that had been parked at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre alight. Police had the NSW Fire Brigade attend who extinguished the fire but the fire had totally destroyed the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle, a Bomaderry woman had parked the vehicle at the location before going out and catching a taxi home. At this time it is suspected that fire was deliberately lit although no suspects have been identified. Police request if any members of the public have any information in relation to the fire they contact Nowra Police Station or Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers – 1800 333 000.

Police Investigate More Suspicious Fires

About 11.15pm on Friday 8/7/11 Police received a report of a vehicle fire on the Princes Hwy, South Nowra in the parking bay near Hillcrest Ave. The parking bay is regularly used by people who leave their vehicles on display for sale.
Police attended and located a Toyota Frontline Mobile Home parked and unattended with the rear of the vehicle on fire. Police gained entry to the vehicle and established that no persons were sleeping inside. Fire crews from NSWFB and Rural Fires Service attended and extinguished the flames but the vehicle had been destroyed. Minor heat damage was occasioned to a vehicle parked near by. It is unknown the cause of the vehicle fire.

Nowra Police are also investigating a suspicious fire this morning (10 july 11) at Anson Street Sanctuary Point. NSW Fire investigation are on scene.

Motorists to Lock their Car Doors

Shoalhaven Police are reminding motorists to lock their car doors and remove all items from their vehicles following an increase in the number of vehicle break-ins in the past month. There has been a large amount of ‘steal from motor vehicle’ offences in the past month with the top suburbs being Nowra followed by Bomaderry and Vincentia. The majority of incidents occurred at night with cars parked in residential areas, in driveways and on the road being targeted the most. The following streets experienced ‘steal from motor vehicle’ offences over the past couple of days in Sanctuary Point: Anson Street, Clifton Street and Cammaray drive.

Weekend arrests

MALICIOUS DAMAGE – ULLADULLA Ulladulla Police are making a number of inquiries in relation to two malicious damage offences in the Ulladulla CBD which is believed to have occurred Friday night. Two businesses situated on the Princes Hwy and Boree Street had their shop front windows or doors smashed by a projectile being thrown at the shop fronts. Police request for any information that may identify the offender to contact Ulladulla Police Station.
