Home saved from grass fire

RFS crews from Bendalong, Milton, Cudmirrah, St Georges Basin, Cunjurong Point and Fire and Rescue NSW from Ulladulla are battling to contain a grass fire threatening a property on Martins Ridge Road Conjola. The fire is burning in kykuyu grass downhill from the house. At this stage the only threat is the one dwelling and do not expect there to be any more threats to life or property.

Man shot on rural property - Milton

A man is in a critical condition after being shot on a property on the NSW South Coast this afternoon.

Police were called to a rural property, about 4km from Milton, about 4.45pm (Tuesday 10 April), responding to a report a man had been shot.

The 69-year-old man was airlifted to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

Detectives from Shoalhaven Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are speaking with a number of people who were at the property at the time.

Serious Accident at Milton

Matron Porter Drive, just east of Frogs Holla Oval was the scene of a serious two car collision early this morning (4 August 2011). A grey Subaru was travelling west in the 80km/h zone towards the Highway when it appears the P-plate driver lost control and collided with a Nissan Pulsar travelling in the opposite direction. The Nissan driver was trapped for a short period before NSW Fire rescue cut her free, she was treated by NSW Ambulance for crush injuries and was transported by Ambulance Helicopter to hospital. A number of passing motorists assisted the trapped driver including a doctor who can be seen sitting in the damaged car comforting with the trapped female.

Suspicious Fire's During High Winds

Ulladulla NSW Fire brigade and RFS units were kept busy with storm damage on tuesday (5th July 2011) and wednesday night, responding to power lines down at Termeil, as well as a number of suspicious fires in bushland near Racecourse beach and Warden Head lighthouse (pictured). Ulladulla Police are also investigating two shed fires in Milton in recent days. 
Any suspicious activity around the Ulladulla lighthouse and surrounding bushland should contact crimestoppers or Ulladulla Police.

Intoxicated Driver Crash Milton

Police returning from a search for missing bushwalkers rescued a man from a burning vehicle. The Ford Fairlane was alight on its roof when Police dragged him free.
