Police unearth $500,000 cannabis plantation - Nowra
Police are conducting investigations after unearthing a large cannabis plantation near Nowra this morning.
About 9am, Tuesday 27 March 2012, officers attached to the Nowra Drug Unit attended the Jerrawangala State Forrest where they located a large cannabis plantation.
Police will allege on Monday afternoon officers attached to the Police Airwing discovered the plantation during a fly over of the area.
Due to the remoteness of the location police had to be winched into the area before removing the crop of 257 cannabis plants.
The cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of $514,000, were seized and later destroyed.
Officers attached to the Nowra Drug Unit are continuing their investigations into the discovery.
