Swimmers' close encounter with bull shark
A large bull shark has come within 25 metres of swimmers at a NSW south coast beach.
The lurking three-metre monster was spotted by a patrol plane off the beach just north of Mollymook on Saturday afternoon, sparking the evacuation of the beach.
Lifesavers in an inflatable launch and a swooping Bendigo Bank Aerial Patrol aircraft repelled the shark and the beach reopened shortly afterwards.
